the new Seether release, 'Karma & Effect.'
03-20-05 - Hello Ladies and Gents Finally we can release the name, and tracklisting
for the upcoming album! Wind-Up Records has approved the title, and the list
of songs, so we're that much closer to having everything finished.
After much debate, and having the first title thrown out by the label, we
are calling the next album "Karma and Effect". We as the band are
happy with this title, and are just happy to be moving on, quite frankly. Here
are the included tracks... (Alphabetically, because I don't wanna spoil the
final tracklisting!)...
Because Of
Me
Burrito
Diseased
Gift
Given
I'm The One
Never Leave
Plastic Man
Remedy
Simplest Mistake
Tongue
Truth
World Falls Away
This means the album will have 13 of the recorded tracks on it, and we have
"Blister", "Innocence" and "Let Me Go" in the
can for B-Sides, and whatever other interesting things the label finds for
us.So now, all we have to do is wait the 8 weeks or so, and the album will
hit the stores, on May 24th. I believe "Remedy" will be at radio
stations nationwide within th next 2 weeks, so if you hear it, please make
sure to call in and request the shit out of it...
That's the latest news from us!
Love and Coors Light - Shaun
03-16-05 - I've just woken up, after finishing the 2 days of shooting the
video for "Remedy", and I'm feeling the pain...The shoot was fantastic!
Dean Karr, the director, has turned an awesome vision into reality, and I'm
sure this video is going to be a surprise to many people. It's dark, and surreal,
and it's creepy as all hell!
A big Thank You to all the people who came out to the shoot! Standing in 3
feet of ice cold boggy water wasn't really my idea of fun, but they stuck
it out, and we had an awesome time! I would have pee'd in my wetsuit right
away...We now get to sit through the dumping process, which will be tomorrow,
and see some of the footage. I'm really excited. He he he - I said dumping
process...Other than that?
We're doing the official band photo shoot tomorrow, and it sounds like it's
going to be a good time. I'll let you know more as soon as it's over..
And here are some more lyrics, while I'm at it!
"If I gave you the truth would it keep you alive?
Though I'm closer to wrong, I'm no further from right
And now I'm convinced on the inside that something's wrong with me
Convinced on the inside you're so much more than me..."- Truth
That's all!
Love and Rocket Sauce -Shaun
03-15-05 - Apparently Seether have decided to change the name of there publicly
yet to be titled album. The new album title should be released soon.
03-08-05 - I have actually found awesome art for the next album, actually
done by a South African artist out of Atlanta, Georgia. He's bad-ass! The
final images were approved today, after much back and forth e-mailing, and
we have some awesome images. It should look awesome when we're finished. -Shaun
03-07-05 - The mixes are going well, and sounding good! 8 tracks are finished
so far, which leaves 8 to go. We should be good to go by the end of next week.
-Shaun
03-02-05 - Randy Staub is currently mixing the album, and we have 4 done so
far - they're sounding awesome, thanks to Mr. Staub!
We have 16 recorded tracks -Shaun
02-22-05 - Although the new disc is not yet titled, the first single is called
"Back To The Remedy" and should surface at radio stations in late
March or early April. As for the sound of the album, frontman Shaun Morgan
says to expect something a bit more aggressive than before: "I think
this album's a lot heavier than the first one was, which is what people normally
don't expect. I think a lot of bands on their second album 'poppy up' a little
bit more. But we've always prided ourselves on having a variety of songs,
and, you know, not one song sounds the same as another, and there's a lot
of ups and downs, but just in general, I think the album sounds a lot heavier
and darker than it was before.
Among the other
songs that may be included in the album's final track listing are "Diseased,"
"I'm The One," "Plastic Man," and the oddly-titled "Burrito."
Seether tentatively
plans to perform at several radio station festivals in late April and early
May.
02-16-05 - 16 tracks have been recorded, and are now ready to be mixed. As
most of you know, the single is called "Remedy", and should start
getting radio play somewhere around the end of March. I'm sure some of our
friends at radio will start playing it sooner, but that's when it's officially
supposed to hit the air.
We are mixing "Remedy" in New York, with Rich Costey, who recently
mixed Muse, Breaking Benjamin and Jimmy Eat World. I guess there's a rush
on the single, or something. I think he's a great mixer, so I'm sure the mix
will be rocking.
Then we're going back to LA to mix the remainder of the album with Randy Staub,
who's mixed everything from Metallica to Nickelback to 3 Days Grace, and I
believe he even did some Hatebreed stuff. He's very cool, his mixes are awesome,
so we should be sounding pretty slamming!
Other than that, all I can tell you right now is that we will probably put
12 or 13 tracks on the album, and it will be out on May 24th officially.
We're currently reading through treatments for the first video, which we'll
hopefully shoot in the first week of April or so. We've got some of my favourite
directors writing for us, so I'm pretty sure the video is going to be cool.
That's pretty much all for now. Stay tuned for more updates..Love and Taco
Bell -Shaun
02-08-05 - It's finished! We are getting ready to mix the album and the release date is looking like something close to May 17th. - Pat
02-04-05 - Rumor has it that April 12 is when 'Remedy,' the first single from Seethers yet to be titled new album makes it's impact on radio.
01-21-05
- Click here to check out pics of the band
in the studio.
01-21-05 - We are in the studio and Dale just arrived. He had to stay in L.A.to
take care of some traffic tickets. Meanwhile Shaun and I finished the guitars,
except for the solos, we are saving that for solo day. Everything is sounding
fucking amazing-the heavier shit is heavier, and the lighter shit is lighter.
We should be done with the recording process in like a week or so. -Pat
01-08-05
We're going to New York to finish the album, so hopefully it's going to be
done and dusted soon. I'll start working on the artwork right away... -Shaun
11-22-04 - We were at Henson Studios, in Hollywood, laying down the drum tracks,
and John really rocked that shit out!
All in all, we tracked 20 complete songs, and John is sitting somewhere in
downtown LA piecing together the best takes, with our sexy engineer, Sid,
as we speak...
Unfortunately, Bob had to leave Saturday to work on Black Sabbath's new album,
in London, (a previous promise he had made...) and we'll only start guitars
in January. However, it will be real early in January, and the album will
still be on schedule.
Look out for a brand new single off the album some time in late February,
or early March. I'm not sure when that stuff takes place...
Suffice it to say, I really think the songs are sounding awesome, and we've
only done the drum tracks!
I can't wait to get in and finish the album, but in the meantime we'll just
keep noodling away on our guitars and hopefully write a few more for the album
- who knows?
The more the merrier, right??? -Shaun
11-11-04 - I just got back from having meetings with Wind-Up in New York,
and I'm happy to report that the news is good!
As you read this, we are preparing the studio, and will start recording drum
tracks for the next album, starting tomorrow!!!
John and Pat are in the studio now, with our producer, Bob Marlette, getting
sounds so that we can begin tomorrow...We have verbal confirmation, from the
label, that the next album will hit the stores on the first Tuesday in May,
2005! - Shaun
09-29-04 - We've just finished up a new batch of demo's for the next album,
and we're really excited with the result!
So far we have 17 songs that we believe are good enough.
17 songs!
Those 17 songs, in working title form, are currently up for consideration
for the next album. Hopefully we'll get the go ahead soon, and actually go
into studio and start recording for real!
Other than that, everybody's good. We'll be in Mobile, AL this weekend, at
Bayfest with Collective Soul, and then we'll head over to Europe for two weeks.
Hopefully we'll head straight into the studio when we get back and have the
album finished by mid-December.
I think we're all really proud of the new material, and I know the album is
going to be a step up from Disclaimer.
I can't wait for you guys to hear the new shit!!!
08-04-04 - Pre-Production for the new album may possibly be done in Alaska
because it's 'Cold and dark and theres nothing around, no distractions at
all and it'll make them angry and make everyone more focused. This info I
heard from Shaun in Orlando, FL on 7-27-04.
07-18-04 - Were supposed to be recording on the 1st of September. We pick
our favorites and generally we'll pick out fifteen and save the rest for possible
soundtracks. -Shaun
07-01-04 - August through October: We will be in the studio recording our
next album! Yes! It's finally going to happen folks! We get to record 12 -
14 new tracks, with the intention of bringing them to your ears VERY early
in 2005. Probably looking at around late Feb, or early March. -Shaun
04-29-04 - Work on our next album has been put on hold, due to the current
success of Broken, recorded for The Punisher soundtrack. What this means is,
we will tour the album for a little longer, before recording our follow-up.
Please don't be mad, because we, the band, have our hands tied. But there
is good news, I promise!
We finally get to tour Europe extensively, and get to play to our fans that
have never seen us before, and we'll tour the US again this summer, hopefully
covering the entire country. Then we'll go back to Europe for another short
stint, before coming back and finishing the new album. It's only fair because
we haven't even been to Europe properly yet, so it's about time we get to
play to our foreign fans, right? -Shaun
03-15-04 - Our second album is being put on hold temporarily - we have 20
songs in consideration, though, so it won't be too long, hopefully!
The band needs a short vacation, so as of tomorrow, all of us are taking a
3 week break. We need some time to rest and recover after 19 months of touring.
We went straight into studio to start working on the next album, and I feel
this might not be the best way to survive...
Talks are ongoing, but no official plan has been made yet, as to how, when
or where the next album will be released.
Don't worry! The band - Pat, Dale, John and I are all doing well, and are
really looking forward to touring again soon.
With the release of "Broken" on the Punisher soundtrack, we have
received a lot of interest from other countries, as far as touring, and hell
- they're even gonna release Disclaimer overseas!!! Yeehaa!!!
This will be a disappointment to most of you, I know, but please believe that
we are constantly thinking of you, our fans, and how we can better reward
your loyal support...
We finished shooting the video for Broken on Wednesday, with director Nigel
Dick (www.nigeldick.com), and all of us are in agreement that this is going
to be the best Seether video yet! It was awesome shooting it, and we all had
one hell of a good time...
I know that opinions on the new version of Broken are varied, albeit passionate,
but please treat the song as a different version, not a new one. The band
believes it is a cool alternative to the version you already have, so take
it or leave it. It's done anyhow, so please move on to other topics of discussion!
Other than that, I can assure our European fans that we will definitely be
heading to Europe in May and June, so watch the Tour section if you need any
details. I will obviously try to keep this board as up to date as possible,
as soon as I have any real dates, and venues.
Thanks again for your support - you guys and gals are the SHIT!!! -Shaun
01-23-04 - Currently we are in pre-production with Bob Marlette in Los Angeles.
We have worked on, and completed 10 new tracks, but there is so much more
to do! We'll hopefully have about 20 tracks to pick from at the end of the
day. - Shaun
Guest Artists

Shaun has been quoted in quite a few interviews that possible artist that
may appear on the new album include Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon,
as well as Evanescence frontwomen Amy Lee.
The Sound
"A little bit more complex, musically. Hopefully, we've started going
places where before we'd be like, 'No, that's not like us.' We've decided
that there's not really anything we can't play. Anything we want to do, we'll
do."
"I think if anything, on our next album, we'll try and make it as noncommercial
as possible," he says. "Melodic, but in the sense of the way Tool
is. Tool doesn't go out to be commercial, but they're just really good. Not
that we can compare ourselves to Tool, but in that vein of not intending to
get songs played on the radio. Making an album that's just so heavy that they
can't put a ballad on it." -Shaun Morgan
Studio Atmosphere:
"I guess we like to have a relaxed cool vibe in the studio when we record.
So we burn candles, and occasionally incense. Just anything to keep the atmosphere
cool and peaceful." - Shaun Morgan
Rumor Pit:
If you have heard any particular rumors concering the next album, please feel
free and e-mail them to me along with a source and I will post them here.
Possible Saron Gas songs that may find there way onto the next album include
